Bragging Rights!

This won't be your average post. I just have to brag for a bit. My upline, Desiree Spenst, is at Convention in Salt Lake City right now! She's been keeping us home-folk apprised of the happenings and I have to brag about her. She not only earned the FIGI Incentive trip but also awards for recruting and downline, Advisory Board AND she's in the Top 20 demonstrators in CANADA! Yep, she's MY upline alright! I'm just so proud of her! She works so hard and is so good to her team! I don't know how she does it all but she does it and does it very well!

Congratulations Des on your achievements this year! You ROCK!! Can't wait to see you when you're back!! I'm sure I'll know by the glow coming from your direction :)

And here's a card for those of you who come to check for card inspiration!! One of my sidelines made this (not sure who so 'fess up if it's you). Love the faux stitching around the sides!!

Dino-ROAR!

One of Mason's friends celebrated his 3rd birthday a few weeks back. It was a dino-themed birthday so I made a dino-themed card.

I love the images in this Dinoroar stamp set. They're fun to watercolour. Here, I punched them out and adhered them to a Daffodil Delight circle (1 3/8" circle I believe).
I also added some fun Island Indigo brads.

Here's the whole card.

And a matching envelope!

Enjoy!

Um, I have a BLOG???

Would you believe that I forgot I even have a blog? I started work last week and then we had an insect problem at our house and moved up to my in-laws place for a long weekend (they were in Calgary at the Stampede. Can I get a ye-haw?) so now I'm back and was checking my email and went "MY BLOG!". Ya. That.

Here's a punch art card that I did just for fun. I used the Blossom Builder punch to make the flower and leaves and the 2 3/8" scallop circle for the clouds. The sweet gnomette? is from Gnome Sweet Gnome out out of the Occasions Mini catalogue this year. I cut her out and popped her up (after watercolouring her of course).

I just tore the edge of some Always Artichoke and sponged it a bit to resemble grass. I love how tiny the gnomette is compared to the flower.

I gave this card to my brother-in-law's girlfriend as a "going away" card. She moved back to Calgary and then the two of them are off to Vietnam for a year!

If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment!

Tea Party

Remember that Top Secret post I made a few weeks back? Well, I finished the invites and have popped them in the mail now so I'm free to share them with you. I don't think the bride-to-be is one of my followers anyways so I should be safe.
This was inspired by a card Sandi MacIver did that I linked to in the Top Secret post. I changed it up a bit (of course) and simplified a tad (but not enough because doing 50 of these still took hours and hours!).

I'm so happy with the end result though and it was so worth it! I don't have a photo of the back :(  It's a postcard style invite and the back just has the invite info and I stamped three vertical teacups down one side.

I printed the "You're Invited" off the computer on Very Vanilla card stock and then punched it out using the Modern Label punch. The teacups were stamped in Marina Mist Classic Ink and then CUT.OUT.BY.HAND. 50 times. Can you say hand cramp? Then three little pearls were put on (that's 150 altogether if you're keeping track). I just love the Hello, Doily background stamp. It's inked up in Elegant Eggplant and stamped on Perfect Plum. I really like the contrast. That circle is just Very Vanilla card stock punched out with the 2.5" circle punch and sponged with Soft Suede (hard to see).

That's Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and a cute bow topped with an Antique Brad.

I adore these but I want to know what you think. I hummed and hawed over the blue teacup. Do you think it's too much? What colour would you have done? I contemplated embossing it in clear and then sponging the blue over so it would be reversed. The white prats would be blue and the blue parts would be white. Then, I came back to reality and realized I didn't want to stamp, powder, heat emboss, sponge, and cut out 50 teacups.

Righto!

Lucia's Birthday Party!

We celebrated Lucia's first birthday in a BIG way! We had an open house (at my in-laws because it was supposed to rain-which it did) and I think we had at least 40 people come throughout the day! The birthday girl was a wee bit grumpy but it's her party and she can cry if she wants to! And she did. Every time we put her down. We had a rainbow theme so here's a bunch of projects that had something to do with rainbows. (Get ready for onslaught of photos here:)

Invites I made in My Digital Studio
Rainbow Twizzlers packaged cute using Stampin' Up! cello bags, the labels framelits and a retired hostess stamp set.

Retired DSP pennant banner. The letters were cut using the Cricut.

Fun! That cute photo ferris wheel is from Mexico and has pictures from when Lucia was a newborn.

Skittles. Taste the Rainbow.
The main food table.
Pinterest inspired craft.
Cake from Costco I couldn't resist getting.

Fruit Rainbow and yummy dip (mix cool whip with flavored yogurt = YUM!)

Rainbow veggies with mushroom clouds (not lethal ones)

Lucia is handing out invites.

The fam on Lucia's actual birthday (June 27th). The cake didn't turn out very well (it didn't come out of the pan in one piece) so it became a trifle! She's heading to bed here.

It was a great day! I need a vacation to recuperate from all the planning and prep! Thanks to all who came out! She's such a special girl and I was so happy to celebrate such a big day!

Triple Time!

Triple Time! That just made me think of those Tae Bo workout videos. I remember doing one with a sprained ankle and it wasn't too much fun! Crazy times..

Here's a fun card! I learned this from Dawn Olchefske. She has dubbed it "Triple Time Stamping" and I am loving it! It looks so much more complicated than it actually is!

Here's the card:
Cute, hey? I had a booboo so I covered it with that pink flowr and popped it up. I like it.

Enjoy AND Happy CANADA Day! We are blessed to live in such a beautiful and free country!
